Man-Zilla

Posted by Gwendelynn Brown on Tuesday, November 30, 2010, In : Baby

a teensie Man-Zilla...too tiny to terrorize

My wee tiny baby has grown into a squirming, voracious, gnawing bundle of energy.

Man-zilla lives.

He is never still, nor full, nor satisfied with his most recent discovery.  There is always more to eat, grab at and explore.  I forgot how much of a workout diaper and clothing changes are at this age.  Sheesh!

My fearless babe now makes a beeline to crawl off the side of the bed, which he does fearlessly; and dangles there upside down, grinning wil...

The Fastest Smooch in the West

Posted by Gwendelynn Brown on Friday, April 16, 2010, In : Funny Kid Stories

He is worried.
He is concerned.
He is once again in the lightening quick embrace of his sissy.

"One minute, I'm laying here peacefully...

when a shadow falls across me.

All the sudden, she's here smooching all over me.

It's over as quick as it began, with nothing but the lingering scent of bananas and cheese crackers as proof.

She is too forward and flighty.  I'm just not that kind of guy.

I...I just can't work under these conditions...something MUST be done about these intrusions...

Curfew

Posted by Gwendelynn Brown on Saturday, April 10, 2010, In : Baby

There is a new Sheriff in town.
Look at him, asleep on the job.
He may look soft,
But he lays down a mean curfew.

I'm still adjusting.

But one thing is obvious;
The man likes to eat.
So far, everybody 'round these parts likes him a lot.
And he and I...we sure are sweet on each other.

*I made the pacifier clip with instructions from www.handmade-adelaide-baby.com  There are lots of cute homemade baby gift ideas and crafts on this site.
The Sheriff's badge came with a clip already on the back...I found i...

Quote of the Day

Him: Where's Dad?
Me: Running
Him: From what?

My oldest boy, seen here holding a friend's chicken; this boy is hilarious.  His brain is wired up differently in a delightful way.  And the great thing is, he's not trying to be funny.  When he does try to tell you a joke, well.  Let's just say it's not pretty.  Or funny.  What IS funny is the stuff that just comes tumbling out of his mouth on a daily basis.  His observations, questions and opinions...it's good stuff.

I've been writing down quotes fr...

A 1 and a 2 and a 1,2,3...

Posted by Gwendelynn Brown on Monday, April 5, 2010, In : Baby

My sister has been there for me throughout every pregnancy.  In fact, she has been gracious enough to get pregnant just prior to me all with our first three children, giving me the opportunity to mentally and emotionally prepare myself for bearing  and delivering a child.  Which is SUPER sweet of her, since nothing psyches me up for delivering a baby like being in my last trimester and attending the birth of a niece or nephew.

This is just after the birth of my youngest daughter.  My sis...

Breakfast Cereal for a Toddler

Posted by Gwendelynn Brown on Sunday, April 4, 2010, In : Toddler Tips
One busy morning, I was pouring cereal for the big kids, fixing a bowl of granola and yogurt for myself, and trying to decide what to fix for my toddler.  I had the idea to put yogurt in her cereal.  It made it much easier for her to eat, and helped the cereal stick to the spoon better.  It also doesn't slosh around and spill like milk and cereal.

and she likes it!!!
